Who we are

Food as a Right is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes food as a human right and collects food and funds to help food insecure populations. We believe that physical and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food is a human right.


Meet our team leaders

President & Co-Founder - Armaan Chaudhry

Armaan is an achieving senior at Wayland High School. Whether it be through publishing titles or leading his grade as residing class president, Armaan has immense experience fundraising and leading community-oriented initiatives. He believes health is a great equalizer and plans to major in Global Health to further dive into the socioeconomic and political factors that cause health disparities.

Co-Founder - William Liu

William is a graduated senior from Wellesley High School. With an insatiable curiosity and a drive to positively impact the world, William has developed a profound passion for tackling global challenges. From his involvement in Model United Nations to his work as a student journalist, he thrives on exploring innovative solutions and fostering meaningful change. As he begins his first year at Northwestern University, William hopes to be able to make a positive impact on the world.

Project Manager - Ben Shanson

Ben Shanson is a senior at Wayland High School who will be attending Northeastern University this fall. He aspires to be a doctor and is passionate about helping others live a lifestyle that prioritizes health and security. With a passion for art and creativity, Ben dedicates his free hours to drawing commissioned art projects. With his project and money-handling experience, Ben aims to build on his goals to make a larger impact on our local communities.

Vice President - Santiago Whelton

Santi is a senior at Wayland High School planning on majoring in business. He currently serves as Wayland High School’s secretary, where he has experience supporting fundraising and communication efforts within the school. On three varsity sports teams and highly engaged with the student body, Santi is excited to support broader efforts as Food as a Right’s VP
